In early September, due to the impact of Typhoon Xuan Lan Nuo, facilities such as the SUHE factory building and substation in South Korea were flooded, and multiple fires broke out in the factory area, causing heavy losses. On September 6th, the Suhe Iron Works ceased production. After the typhoon left the country, some blast furnaces gradually resumed normal operation. As of November 10th, 6 out of 18 production equipment at Suhe Steel Plant have resumed production.
Suhe Iron and Steel originally planned to restore production to pre typhoon levels by the end of this year, but the current resumption situation is not optimistic. The company is expected to fully resume production in the first quarter of next year.
It is expected that this disaster will cause at least 2.4 trillion Korean won (approximately 1.83 billion US dollars) in sales losses for Suhe Iron and Steel.
